Breeze Block opened in September, 2007 after a summer of re-modeling the old auto mechanics shop that now houses us on NE 10th and Alberta. Our previous endeavor, Street Level, was located in an alley of N. Portland, and gave us the foundation to open Breeze Block as a full-time gallery and retail shop showcasing all hand-made goods.
We are also the home of Black Star Bags, an awesome Portland-grown business owned by Dave “Lucky” Stoops. Dave makes heavy-duty bike messenger bags and accessories in the back studio of Breeze Block. Check out his goods and custom order ideas through the link on the right. Leah of Flutter Designs also produces fun hand-made goods in our back studio.
